Gomoku App Privacy Policy
Last revised: 2026-09-03 (v1.1)
This app minimizes the collection of personally identifiable information in the current version (v1.1), and most features are designed to operate entirely within the user's device.
- Information Stored on Device
The following information is stored on your device to maintain your app usage environment:
- App settings (sound, theme, language, time limit, etc.)
This information is not transmitted externally and is deleted along with the app upon uninstallation in accordance with the operating system's policies. Users can remove all local data directly by uninstalling the app.
-
Advertising and Analytics
This version does not use commercial advertising or user tracking tools. If advertising or paid features are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and changes will be announced within the app.
-
No Third-Party Sharing
This app does not provide, sell, or share collected information with third parties.
-
Children's Privacy
This app does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 14.
-
Policy Changes
If new features such as match history sync, online play, login, advertising, or paid/payment features are introduced in the future, the minimum information necessary for service provision may be collected. In such cases, this policy will be updated, announced within the app, and separate consent procedures will be carried out.

Anonymous Play Data Collection (Optional)
If you enable 'Share anonymous play data' in Settings, the following information is transmitted to the server via a secure encrypted channel (HTTPS) for AI improvement and duplicate prevention:
- Collected Items: Move sequence (stone coordinates), AI difficulty, game outcome, AI thinking time, app version, approximate device specifications, and a randomly generated unique identifier (UUID) created upon app installation.
- Purpose of Collection: AI difficulty calibration, opening book expansion, engine improvement, prevention of duplicate transmissions, and data analysis.
Since this UUID is a random number not linked to device hardware information (IMEI, MAC address, etc.) or user accounts, it cannot identify a specific user under normal circumstances. Therefore, due to the nature of anonymous data, it is impossible to identify, provide, or individually delete (destroy) the data once collected. This feature is off by default and can be disabled at any time in Settings.
- Error Diagnostic Data Collection (Optional)
If 'Share error diagnostic data' is enabled in Settings (enabled by default), the following diagnostic information is transmitted to the server via HTTPS when an engine crash or timeout error occurs:
- Collected Items: Error type, error message, stack trace, move sequence at the time of error, ply, device model, OS version, app version, thermal level, and client UUID.
- Purpose of Collection: Engine error debugging, crash prevention, and application stability enhancement.
- Retention Period: Retained for up to 1 year from the date of collection and permanently deleted thereafter.
- Opt-out: You can disable 'Share error diagnostic data' in Settings at any time.
- Customer Support Inquiries
When submitting an inquiry via the in-app 'Contact Support' feature, the following information is collected:
- Collected Items: Inquiry content, contact email address (optional), and recent diagnostic error IDs (if attached).
- Purpose of Collection: Customer support response, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Retention Period: Retained for up to 3 years in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws and customer service record keeping.
